In Loving Memory of

Bonita “Bonnie” Jean Suckow

Bonnie Suckow was born on January 20, 1948 in Graceville, Minnesota to Mahlon F. and Mary Barton McCartney.  She grew up in Clinton, MN and graduated from Clinton High School in 1967.  On November 1, 1974 she and Warren Suckow where married in Milbank, SD.  Following their marriage they made their home in Holloway, MN until 1984 when they moved to Granite Falls, MN where she and Warren worked for the city of Granite Falls.  In 1994 they moved to a home on Lake Shetek near Slayton, MN and both worked at the Shetek Bible Camp until retiring in 2011.  She and Warren enjoyed many trips to Missouri Amish Country over the years. On November 2, 2016 due to failing health Bonnie moved to Our House Hospice Home in Slayton where she passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at the age of 68.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Slayton.  Bonita enjoyed raising horses and dogs, playing cards and sewing.

Survivors include her husband, Warren Suckow of Slayton, MN, three children and their spouses, Jeffery and Michelle Giese of Montevideo, MN, Michael and Misty Giese of Needville, TX, and Sara Jarett of Maynard, MN; eight grandchildren and three siblings, Clyde McCartney of Ortonville, MN, Sandra Dietz of Florence, TX and Robert McCartney of Elk River, MN.  She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Mahlon L. McCartney and one sister-in-law, Ruth McCartney.

Memorial Services

United Methodist Church in Slayton on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Chad Setter officiating.  The organist is Janet Voges with special music by Glenn Kluis. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Suckow, Jody Suckow, Scott Dietz and Warren Hanson. Interment will be at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Murray County Hospice or to the Slayton United Methodist Church.
