Eileen Florence Toussaint

Eileen Toussaint was born on March 26, 1923 on a farm in Iona Township, Murray County, Minnesota to Tom and Florence Dahlhoff Scully.  She grew up on the family farm near Iona and graduated from St. Columba School in 1941.  Eileen attended Roberts Beautician College in Sioux Falls, SD graduating in 1945.  On July 18, 1950 she and Raymond Toussaint were married in Iona, MN.  Following their marriage they made their home in Fulda until 1965 when they moved to Iona, MN.  In 1970 they moved to Slayton for a year before moving to Spooner, WI.  In 1973 they retuned to Slayton and Eileen worked at Coast to Coast Hardware.  Ray passed away on May 30, 1980.  In August 1996 Eileen became a resident of the Golden Living Center-Slayton and passed away there on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the age of 89.  She was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Slayton. Eileen was a past member of the Iona VFW Auxiliary.  Eileen enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, gardening and dancing.

Survivors include her two daughters and one son, Gail Toussaint of St. Paul, MN, Kenneth and Mary Toussaint of Slayton, MN, and Barb and Dan Fowlds of St. Paul, MN, three grandchildren, Danielle, Nichole and Gabrielle Toussaint all of Slayton, two sisters, Leona Kremer and Alice Knutson both of Slayton.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray, two brothers, James and Joe Scully, two sisters, Florence Nemmers and Rosella Steinman and son-in-law, Edward Morris

Funeral  Services

St. Ann’s Church Slayton, MN on Wednesday, July 18 2012 at 10:30 AM with Fr. James Seitz officiating.  The organist is Judy Andrews.   The song leader is Sheila Crowley.   The pallbearers are John Knutson, Paul Knutson, Steve Nemmers, Pat Kremer, Jim Kremer and Bill Steinman.  Interment is at St. Columba Cemetery, Iona, MN.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton from 4-7 p.m. with a 4:30 p.m. rosary and a 7:00 p.m. prayer services.  Visitation will also be one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. To send condolences visit totzkefuneralhome.com.
