Elaine Faye Zins

Elaine Zins, the daughter of Clarence and Iva (Jones) Jenkins, was born on March 6, 1937 in Worthington, MN. She grew up in Worthington and attended school until 1947 when her family moved to rural Fulda and she attended Fulda High School. Elaine was united in marriage to Phillip Zins on April 14, 1956 at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda. After their marriage they lived in Fulda for a year before moving to a farm near Dundee. Over the years she worked at the Hardware Store in Fulda and Maynard’s Grocery store and later at Wal-Mart in Worthington. In November 2015 Elaine entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda and passed away there on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the age of 80. She was a member of St, Gabriel’s Catholic Church and belonged to the F.C.C.W. Elaine enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafts, painting, making and decorating cakes and upholstering furniture.

Survivors include her husband, Phillip Zins of Dundee, MN, sons, Gary Zins of Dundee, MN and Rick (Shelley) Zins of Brewster, MN; grandsons, Corey Zins and Hunter Zins and sister, Gloria (Richard) Worden of North Liberty, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services

St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Saturday April 29, 2017 with Msgr. R. Paul Heiting celebrating.  The organist is Mary Ann Boom. The song leader is Jerry Zins. The pallbearers are Corey Zins, Hunter Zins, Levi Zins, Anthony Zins, Kevin McBreen and John Stenke. Interment at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery Fulda, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. The Totzke Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
