Sincere sympathys extended to the family, Your dad was bigger than life . Always enjoyed visiting with him, he always had time for a few cheerful words and a smile. They were friends and went to dances with my parents for many years. They loved a good waltz and looked wonderful on the dance floor. I know he will be missed.

Grandpa, I was hoping to get to come to your funeral, but I could break away from work. I know you are up in heaven either golfing or snowmobiling. Hit a hole in one for me.

Swede was such a sweet and interesting man. I will always remember the time he spent with us in Georgetown, Tx. He would drink his scotch every night and tell us fun stories from his past ^_^. He will be greatly missed!

My condolences to the family of Swede and Kathryn. 1954 our family moved to Slayton and lived next to the Swenson family. I have many fond memories of playing with Dan and Tom. Swede was a towering man that raised a very good family. He made the best sand box that boys playing with tiny trucks and loaders could ever want.....Rest in peace Swede.

What a special soul I had the lucky chance to get to know through my marriage with his son, Daniel. Although we parted ways, I continued to care for this wonderful family that so openly shared their love and lives with my son, Travis, who was 3 when we married. Together, we then had Wade who is now 32. Swede and Wade had a special relationship.
Wade loved his grandfather very much and wished he could attend the service, but his training at his new job will not allow for the travel time from Texas. I think Swede would understand that commitment. Travis is also hardworking and devoted to his wife, Julia and daughter, Ruby, 4. They both told me it was a 'sad day' to learn of their grandfather's passing. God bless all the family left behind and prayers for this wonderful soul we knew as 'Swede.'

There is only one Swede. He always was up for a conversation. I still have a hanger he made for me. He enjoyed to talk about the old snowmobile days. He was quite the guy. May your family have good memories of a life well lived.
