In Loving Memory Of

Henrietta Marjorie Smith

Henrietta M. “Heinie” Smith, the daughter of Alexis and Annabelle Updyke Bodelson, was born on December 13, 1918 in St. James, MN.  She grew up in Dundee and as young girl moved with her family to Fulda where she attended school. She graduated from the Fulda High School in 1936 and then attended business school in Minneapolis, MN.  Heinie was united in marriage to Raymond “Ervie” Smith on August 30, 1942 in Fulda, MN.  After their marriage they lived in Fulda and raised their children. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Tuseth Variety Store in Fulda for many years.  Heinie remained at their home after Ervie died in August of 1975.  Heinie passed away at the Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the age of 93.  She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda where she belonged to the ladies aid and was a volunteer aid with the pre-school at St. Paul’s Lutheran School, for over 20 years, retiring at the age of 81.  Heinie also belonged to the Fulda Pink Ladies, Fulda Reading Club and the Fulda Heritage Society.  She enjoyed Bridge Club, reading, traveling, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Gerry (Dianna) Smith of Montgomery, MN; daughter, RaeAnn (Rodney) Storm of Avoca, MN; 5 grandchildren Adam (Krista) Smith, Abby (Tim) Bisek, Ryan (Jill) Storm, Joshua (Lauren Harding) Storm and Jeremy (Annette Magnus) Storm; 6 great-grandchildren, Tanner, Sophia and Ty Smith, Phoenix and Jackson Storm and Lukas Bisek; three sisters-in-law, Clarine Greenlee of New Port Richey, FL, Marion Nelson of Spokane, WA and Marge Smith of Kasota, MN and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Mern Greenfield-Raymond and brother, Gerald Bodelson.

Funeral Services

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Fulda, MN at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 with the Rev. Shawn Ethridge officiating.  The organist is Irene Wahl.  Special music by Marv Storm.  The pallbearers are her grandchildren.  Interment at Prairie Hill Cemetery Fulda, MN.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at the Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
