Janice Louise Kuehl

Janice Kuehl was born on August 20, 1941 in Slayton, Minnesota to Harold and Carmelita Caron Paden.  She grew up on various farms in Murray County and graduated from Immaculate Heart of Mary High School in 1959.  Following high school Janice moved to the Twin Cities and worked for an insurance agency.  On August 25, 1962 she and Vernell “Mike” Kuehl were married at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Currie, MN.  Following their marriage they farmed in Cottonwood County until 1967 when they purchased a farm in Dovray Township.  In 1996 they moved to Dovray.  Janice and Mike enjoyed spending their winters in Texas.  On September 1, 2017 Janice moved to Ecumen Meadows in Worthington where she passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the age of 76.  Janice was a member of IHM Church.  She also was a member of the Dovray America Legion Auxiliary Post.  Janice enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, golfing, bowling, playing cards, traveling and watching sports on TV.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Kuehl of Dovray, MN, five children and their spouses, Jackie and Todd Rogers of Reading, MN, Kevin Kuehl of Currie, MN, Lori and Jim Henning of Worthington, MN, Maury and Chris Kuehl of Avoca, MN, and Nick and Kris Kuehl of Fergus Falls, MN, 11 grandchildren, Stuart and Blake Rogers, Molly and Kadin Kuehl, Lucas and Brooke Henning, Kyle, Nathan and Neil Kuehl, and Quintin and Reece Kuehl, six siblings and their spouses, Barbara and Delano Woese, of Merrifield, MN, James Paden of Grantsburg, WI, Karen and Larry Carpenter of Rathdrum, ID, John and Lynn Paden of New Prague, MN, Jerome and Shelly Paden of McAlester, OK, and Lucille Paden of Eden Prairie, MN, and several nieces and nephews and their families.  She is preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Millard Paden.

Funeral Services

IHM Church in Currie, MN on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Msgr. R. Paul Heiting officiating.  The organist is Patty LeClaire.  The song leader is LoAnn Hansen.  The pallbearers are her grandchildren.  Interment is at Calvary Cemetery in Currie, MN.  

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017 at the IHM Church in Currie from 4-7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
