Kathy Marie Dardis
Kathy Dardis, the daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Gisi) Malsam, was born on July 24, 1962 in Aberdeen, SD. She grew up in Iowa and attended school in Sibley, IA, graduating in 1980. She moved to Minnesota in the early ‘80’s where she met David Dardis. Kathy and David were united in marriage on July 29, 1989 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington, MN. After their marriage they lived on a farm east of Fulda where they raised their 3 children. Kathy worked for 25 years at Bedford Industries in Worthington. In 2014 they moved into the home they built in Fulda. Kathy passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 after a short battle with cancer with her family by her side at the Dougherty Hospice house in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 53. She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda where she also belonged to the FCCW. Kathy was also a Boy Scout leader and Council member for the Fulda Boy Scouts for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, camping, fishing, being on the farm, her grandkids and her dog, “Sophie”.
Survivors include her husband, David Dardis of Fulda, MN; children, Rachel Dardis of Wausau, WI, Chris (Kayla) Dardis of Fulda, MN and Amber (Zach) Ramerth of Fulda, MN; 4 grandchildren; parents, Joe (Theresa) Malsam of Sibley, IA; 7 siblings, Donna Meyer of Little Rock, IA, Barb (Don) Snyder of Ashton, IA, Sharon Peterson of Hartley, IA, Deb (Jeff) Meyer of Gaylord, MN, Brenda (Paul) Omodt of GA, Bill (Dianne Wallrich) Malsam of Baltic, SD and Chad (Tina) Malsam of Hartley, IA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and niece, Christina Snyder.
Funeral Services
St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 21, 2016 with Msgr. R. Paul Heiting celebrating. The organist is Dana Hogan. The song leader is Lloyd Winter. The pallbearers are Derrick Hotovec, Darin Meyer, Jason Meyer, Scott Bultmann, Justin Dardis and Michael Dardis. Interment at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery Fulda, MN.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 PM at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda with a 4:00 prayer service and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda is assisting the family with arrangements.
