Milfred J. “Stup” Kremer
Stup Kremer was born on February 8, 1923 on the family farm near Wilmont, Minnesota to Barney and Caroline Hoffman Kremer. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. In 1936 the family moved to a farm in Iona Township, Murray County, MN. Stup farmed with his family and later on his own until his retirement in 2003. He remained on the farm following his retirement. Stup passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at his home in rural Iona, MN at the age of 89. He was a member of St. Columba Church in Iona. Stup enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attended family events.
Survivors include one brother, Clarence Kremer of Worthington, MN, one sister, Beverly Schreier of Currie, MN, two sister-in-laws, Leona Kremer of Slayton, MN, and Bernadine Kremer of Iona, MN and many nieces and nephews and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ivan and Ervin Kremer, four nephews, John Kremer, Michael Kremer, Gregg Kremer and Paul Kremer, one sister-in-law, Dolores Kremer and brother-in-law, Vincent Schreier.
St. Columba Church in Iona, MN on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. James Seitz officiating. The organist is Sharon Lais. The song leader is Sheila Crowley. Honorary pallbearers are his nephews. Interment is at St. Columba Cemetery in Iona, MN. Military honors accorded by the Iona VFW Post.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at St. Columba Church in Iona, MN from 4-7 p.m. with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a prayer services at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
