Brittany  Lais

Brittany Anne Lais, the daughter of Steven Lais and Shandra Jans, was born on December 22, 2001 in Worthington, MN. They lived in Lismore until she was 2 and then moved with Shandra and Brooke to Fulda. Her favorite pastime growing up was watching Scooby Doo. She spent 7 years enjoying dance at Kay Prunty’s Dance Academy in Worthington. Brittany attended school in Fulda up until the last few months of her senior year and then transferred to Worthington High School, where she graduated with honors. She was a member of the National Honor Society. In Fulda Brittany was involved in FFA, FCCLA, band, and choir. During her high school years, she played volleyball and basketball as well. After graduating high school, she worked various jobs, but found a great fit at Maple Lawn Senior Care in Fulda, as a dietary aid. Brittany recently received a Gold Star Award for being reliable and dependable, as voted by her peers. She thoroughly enjoyed working and getting to know the residents there. She also loved spending time with her family, camping and fishing. She was excellent at drawing and creating art projects, and especially liked flowers. Brittany passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center at the age of 22.

Survivors include her parents, Steve Lais of Chandler, MN and Shandra (Matthew) Meier of Fulda, MN; 3 sisters, Brooke Lais of Mankato, MN, Jaycee Meier of Fulda, MN and Mercede Meier of Fulda, MN; paternal grandparents, Tom (Cecelia) Lais of Chandler, MN; maternal grandmother, Chris Jans of Worthington, MN; step-grandparents, Gerald (Grace) Meier of Fulda, MN; many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandpa, Kevin Jans.

Funeral Services

St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2024 with Fr. Peter Schuster officiating.  The organist is Sherri Isder. The song leader is Sheila Crowley. Special music provided by Anna Meyer. The pallbearers are Jeff Lais, Mike Lais, Ryan Doyle, Cainaan Weise, Carlos Garcia and Tony Lopez. Interment at Prairie Hill Cemetery Fulda, MN.

Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 6 PM at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda is assisting the family with arrangements.
