Lyle Busch

Lyle George Busch, the son of George and Edna (Meier) Busch, was born on December 9, 1939 in Fulda, MN. He grew up on the family farm south of Fulda and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and graduated from Fulda High School in 1957. He served for the U.S. Army reserves for 6 years as Military Police. Lyle was united in marriage to Carol Krueger on November 24, 1958 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda. After their marriage they lived on various farms south of Fulda before settling on the Busch family farm in 1970. Upon retiring they moved into Fulda in October of 2001. Lyle passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN at the age of 84. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. Lyle also served on the Fulda Elevator Board and the St. Paul’s Lutheran School Board. He enjoyed camping, wintering in Arizona for 30 years with their many friends, golf, playing cards, but not fishing. Lyle loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, International Tractors and Ford-Lincoln Cars.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Busch of Fulda, MN; 2 sons, Kevin (Leann) Busch of Fulda, MN and Randy (Michelle) Busch of Eden Prairie, MN; son-in-law, Dennis Holtrop of Luverne, MN; 4 grandchildren, Sarah Deutsch, Dawn (Aaron) Sandbulte, Benjamin Busch, Caroline Busch; 5 great-grandchildren, Cole, Emma, Blair, Andrew and Jacob; 2 step grandchildren, Abby (Travis) Nieman and Katie Jensen; 3 step great-grandchildren, Lauren, Jonah and Bailey; sister, Dolores Rosenbrook of Lakeville, MN and 2 sisters-in-law, Kathie Viste and Donna Clausen. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Roxanne Holtrop, brothers-in-law, Meryl Rueter, Dwaine Rosenbrook.

Funeral Services

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2024 with Rev. Shawn Ethridge officiating.  The organist is Dr. Tiffany Hurst. The soloist is Amie Goettig. The pallbearers are his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Interment at Prairie Hill Cemetery Fulda, MN.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 6 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda is assisting the family with arrangements.
