Anthony “Tony” Ross Krant
Tony Krant was born on March 26, 1957 in Olivia, Minnesota to Alfred and Helen Wambach Krant. He grew up in Buffalo Lake, MN and graduated from Buffalo Lake High School in 1975. On January 8, 1976 Tony enlisted in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharge on March 13, 1980. On September 24, 1983 he and Cheryl Hendrickson were married at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN. Following their marriage they made their home in Hadley, MN where Tony owned and operated T.R. Krant Construction. Tony believed in hard work and took great pride in the work he did. Tony retired due to a cancer diagnosis in November 2016. Tony passed away at his home on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the age of 61. Tony attended Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN. He was a member of the Lake Wilson American Legion Post, Hadley Lions and Ducks Unlimited. Tony enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, golfing, hunting and watching sports.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Krant of Hadley, MN, two daughters, Kristin Sippel and her husband, James of Webster, MN, and Jennifer Krant of Hadley, MN, three siblings and their spouses, Alan and Paula Krant of Newman Lake, WA, Trudy and Larry Jaskowiak of Placida, FL, and Paulette and Leroy Posusta of Silver Lake, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Joe Zanoth and nephew, Doran Zanoth.
Funeral Services
Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dawn Quame officiating. The organist is Theresa Nysevold with special music by Tim Bengtson. The pallbearers are Larry Plantz, Doug Halbur, Mark Engbarth, Bob Schreier, Jon Kinseth and Henry Veldhuisen. The honorary pallbearers are Dale Mahon, Cory Jaskowiak, Myron Bennett, Brian Livingston, Nate Graphenteen and Butch Herding. Interment is at Slayton Memorial Gardens in Slayton, MN. Military honors accorded by the Lake Wilson American Legion Post.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton from 4-7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
