Deborah “Deb” Ann Steffl
Deb Steffl was born on December 25, 1957 in Britt, Iowa to August (Bud) and Mary Ann Jensen Brunson. She grew up in Britt until 1966 when the family moved to Bloomington, MN. Deb graduated from Bloomington Jefferson High School in 1976. On October 19, 1991 she and David Steffl were married in Burlington, WI. Following their marriage they made their home in New Munster, WI. In the spring of 1994 they moved to Chandler, MN so they could raise their children surrounded by the love of family and community. Deb passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Murray County Medical Center in Slayton, MN at the age of 60. They attended St. Mary’s Church in Lake Wilson, MN. Deb loved being a wife, mother, and grandma. Deb enjoyed visiting with family and friends, cooking, traveling, and painting.
Survivors include her husband, David Steffl of Chandler, MN, four children and their spouses, Joseph and Rita Steffl of Superior, WI, David J. Steffl of Maple Grove, MN, Joshua Steffl of Chandler, MN, and Racheal and Adam Ossefoort of Luverne, MN, two grandchildren, Haley Steffl and Travis Steffl, her mother, Mary Ann Brunson of Waseca, MN, two brothers, Dean Brunson of Fairmont, MN, and Duane Brunson and his wife, Molly of Waldrof, MN, several brothers and sisters–in-law, and nephews and nieces and their families. She is preceded in death by her father, August (Bud) Brunson, and grandparents, August and Hanna Brunson, and Ray and Ann Jensen.
Memorial Services
St. Ann’s Church in Slayton, MN at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 with Fr. Thien Nguyen officiating. The honorary pallbearers are Joshua Steffl, Joseph Steffl, David Steffl, Adam Ossefoort, Dean Brunson, Duane Brunson, Steve Steffl, and Tom Steffl. Interment is at Hillside Cemetery in Lake Wilson, MN.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton from 4-7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.
