Michael John Beers

On July 31, 1973 at 1:27 AM in Pipestone, MN, someone very special came into the lives of Voyl and Sandy (Johnson) Beers. Michael John, age 44, found peace at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on February 20, 2018 at 1:27 PM after suffering a cardiac arrest. He will be greatly missed by his family and many other relatives and friends.

Michael was a very hard working man, who was his Dad’s “right hand man”, and anyone else who needed his assistance. On his rare time off he enjoyed camping, horseback riding, restoring his 1957 Chevy pick-up and fishing (especially with his nephews, Landon and Tristian, when they were in town). In 2015 Michael started his own business called Complete Turn.

Survivors include his parents, Voyl (Lynne) Beers of Lake Wilson, MN and Sandy Beers of Sheboygan, WI; sisters, Shannon (Willis) Reese of Sheboygan, WI and Stacy (Rich) Shaw of Spotsylvania, VA; wife, Naomi Beers of Jasper, MN; nephews, Tristian and Landon; niece, Meghan; many aunts, uncles and cousins that were very important to him. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne (Velna) Beers and Earl (Sally) Johnson.

Michael will be greatly missed by all who loved him, but we all have our memories to cherish. Someone once wrote “memories are God’s gift to those who are left behind”. We will miss you Michael. Rest in peace.

Funeral Services

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Lake Wilson, MN at 12:00 PM on Friday, February 23, 2018 with Rev. Greg Hall officiating.  The organist is Darlene Bose. Interment at Hillside Cemetery Lake Wilson, MN.  Memorials may be sent to the Michael Beers Memorial Fund at the Minwest Bank in Lake Wilson.

Visitation will be from Friday from 10 to 12 PM at the church. The Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton is assisting the family with arrangements.
