In Loving Memory Of

Richard George Robillard

Dick Robillard was born on April 3, 1933 in Providence, Rhode Island to George and Harriet Hand Tedeschi.  Dick grew up in Providence and graduated from Providence High School in 1951.   In 1952 Dick enlisted in the United States Air Force.  On September 11, 1954 he and Marilyn Toner were married at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton.   Following their marriage they made their home in Slayton, MN until 1958 when Dick was transferred to Madison, WI and subsequent assignments in other locations.  Dick retired from the United States Air Forces in 1975 after 23 years of service working as a Radar and Communications specialist.  Dick then went to work for Finley Engineering in Slayton until his retirement in 1992 but remained a consultant on many contracts.  Since 1997 Dick and Marilyn have spent their winters in Texas.  Dick passed away at his home on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the age of 80.  He attended Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton.  He also was a member of the Avoca American Legion Post.  Dick’s legacy to his family is a great love for the outdoors including hunting, fishing, hiking and canoeing which was done with him at his 40 acre cabin site located near Ely.  He gave this cabin and acreage to his eight grandchildren so they could continue his legacy of sharing family times and love for his forest.  In addition Dick enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing, gardening and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Robillard of Slayton, MN, LaRita (Chuck) Velure of Wayzata, MN, Barbara Schwarze of Jordan, MN, son-in-law, Tom Drew of Omaha, NE, eight grandchildren, Amy (Nichol) DePoint, Jeff (Tara) Theis, Jaclyn Theis, Todd Schwarze, Scott Schwarze, Richard Denevan, Brittany Denevan, and Sarah (Joe) Peckham, two great-grandchildren Desiree Peckham and Hattie DePoint, one sister, Shirley Kenney of Rehoboth, MA.  He is preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Sharon Denevan and Karla Drew, one brother, Robert Tedeschi and one sister Dolores Schofield.
