Audrey Lavonne Voss

Audrey Voss was born on January 3, 1935 on a farm near Lake Wilson, Minnesota to Martin and Gladys Thompson Carlson. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Lake Wilson High School in 1952. On September 24, 1952 she and Gerald Voss were married at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson. Following their marriage they farmed north of Hadley, MN. In 1956 they moved to Madelia, MN. In 1962 when they returned to the family farm north of Hadley. In 1974 they moved to Hadley. Audrey did bookkeeping for the Slayton Grain Belt Distributor. She also was co-owner of Uptown Market in Slayton with her daughter, Debbie. Audrey passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at her home in Hadley at the age of 75. She was a member of the Hadley Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the Lake Wilson American Legion Auxiliary, the Hadley Lioness Club, and the Eagles Club in Arizona. Audrey enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, camping, puzzles, and watching the Minnesota Vikings.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald Voss of Hadley, MN, six children and their spouses, Pamela Judkins of Biwabik, MN, Kathy and John Gilbertson of Garvin, MN, David Voss of Hadley, MN, Richard and Gina Voss of Mahtomedi, MN, Connie and Jim Sorenson of Hadley, MN, and Debrah and Scott Helmke of Lake Wilson, MN, 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, one sister, Jeannie Zimmerman and her husband, Gene of Chico, CA, and one brother, Darrell Carlson and his wife, Sheila of Tracy, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, one great-grandson, Greydon Paggett, one sister, Shirley Suedkamp, and one brother, Lyle Carlson.

Funeral Services

Hadley Lutheran Church in Hadley, MN on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 1:30p.m. with Rev. Kerry Boese officiating. The organist is Dianne Johnson. The pallbearers are Gerald Judkins, Johnny Gilbertson, Peter Voss, Anthony Sorenson, Tyler Helmke, and Brock Voss. The honorary pallbearers are Ann Helmke, Betty Engebretson, and Rick and Darlene Like. Interment is at St. John Cemetery rural, Lake Wilson, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
