In Loving Memory Of
Carol Noerenberg
Carol Noerenberg of Fulda, MN went to heaven on November 13, 2021 at 11:05am. She was born on July 11, 1940 on a farm in Canby, MN. She was the daughter of Herbert “Herb” & Alice (Van Vorn) Yackley. Carol married Dyarl (Buzz) Herman Noerenberg on April 30, 1960 at the American Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN. Dyarl and Carol met while working at Campbell Soup in Worthington, MN. During their life together they lived in Canby, MN, Jasper, MN, Worthington, MN and for the past 55+ years they lived in Fulda, MN. Carol’s jobs include waitressing in Canby, Campbell Soup Company, Holiday Inn Express and several nursing homes in Worthington, MN, Toro, Sather’s in Round Lake, MN, and Maple Lawn Nursing home in Fulda, MN where she passed.
Among the things Carol enjoyed in her life were reading Louis L’Amour and Harlequin romance novels as well as reading about many of her favorite people which included Princess Diana, Johnny Cash, John F Kennedy, John Wayne and many more. She enjoyed listening to country music and on occasion would “rock out like the best of us” when she thought she was alone. She enjoyed sewing and making canvas crafts to make decorations for any and all holidays. Some of her favorite times were the holidays and she would decorate for every one of them even if it was not a major holiday. New Years, Valentine’s Day, Presidents Day, Easter, Christmas, Memorial Day. It did not matter. They were all her excuse to decorate. She enjoyed doing word search books to keep her mind active and pass the time. Carol loved flowers and working in her garden. Tea roses and gladiolus were her favorite flowers but she loved them all no matter what kind of flower it was. She had a house full of plants and Dyarl would sometimes wonder where they would find space for the next one she brought home. Her favorite food was potatoes. Especially mashed potatoes. At one time Dyarl said they should have just lived on a potato farm. Her favorite colors were blue and purple. She also had several different collections that included dolls, coins, stamps and angels. She also collected Native American plates and Dream Catchers to celebrate her Indian heritage. Carol enjoyed traveling with her husband, Dyarl (even if it was just a short trip around the Fulda Lake). One of her favorite places was Canal Park in Duluth, MN. She liked to watch the ships come in and listen to the water. She felt a certain kind of peace there. She also liked to go to Leif Erickson Park in Duluth to see all the rose bushes. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Much of that time involved card playing, camping, archery, family vacations and just sitting around the table talking. Everyone loved it when she made her sloppy joes and potato salad and she enjoyed making it as a family favorite. Carol was a quiet person that enjoyed sitting back and listening to others around her as she watched everyone interact. But she also loved laughter and was very willing to get in on some mischief.
Carol is survived by her 6 children: Gary Noerenberg of Fulda, MN, Sonda(Brian) Kass of Dundee, MN, LuAnne Nibbelink of Brewster, MN, Gaylene(Dan) Darkow of Sioux Falls, SD, Lynn Noerenberg of International Falls, MN, Brian (Janet) Noerenberg of Fulda, MN, her brother Lyle(Lynn) Yackley of Sauk Center, MN, 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Dyarl in 2019, her brother LeRoy at the age of two from whooping cough and twin siblings Robert and Elizabeth(Betty) from scarlet fever as infants and 2 infant great-grandchildren.
