Caroline Odenbrett Obituary

In Loving Memory Of

Caroline Odenbrett

Caroline (Nepper) Odenbrett, the daughter of Aloys and Elizabeth (Moser) Nepper, was born on June 24, 1938 in Raeville NE.  She grew up in Nebraska until the age of nine when the family moved to a farm near Wilmont, MN. After high school graduation she went to nursing school in South Dakota.  After becoming a nurse, Caroline worked in Chamberlain, SD, Adrian, MN, Omaha, NE, and lastly Worthington, MN.

Caroline was united in marriage to Maurice Odenbrett on April 20,1968 at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church in Wilmont, MN.  After their marriage they lived on the family farm northeast of Fulda where they raised their two children.  She enjoyed being a farmer’s wife, gardening and a great cook. They retired from farming in 2004.  In 2022 they moved to Brookings, SD to be near their daughter.

Caroline passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the Brookings Hospital at the age of 86.  She loved making beautiful quilts and had a sewing room with many cabinets full of material of all colors.  Caroline was able to travel to two areas that were on her bucket list, Rome Italy and Alaska.  Her greatest joys were her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

Survivors include her children Andrea (Steve) Hogie of Brookings, SD and Luke (Rochelle) Odenbrett of Brandon, SD; grandchildren Anastasia (Brad) Pabst of Eugene, OR, Chantel (Austin) Hoerner of Brookings, SD, Brittney (Noah) Drew of Brookings, SD, Noah (Ellie) Odenbrett of Mankato, MN, Sadie (Calvin) Lipetzky of Eagan, MN and Olivia Odenbrett of Brandon, SD; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Landon Pabst and Oliver Hoerner.  Sister-in-laws Dorothy Moser, Bertill Nepper and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 55 years, sisters Helen (Milt) Toeneboehn and Dorothy (Virgil) Klosterman, foster brother Richard Moser, and brother Robert Nepper.
