In Loving Memory of
Charles “Chuck” Lindberg Haugen Sr.
Chuck Haugen was born on March 10, 1951, in Tracy, Minnesota to Lindy and Betty Harbo Haugen. He grew up in Tracy and graduated from Tracy High School in 1968. On April 7, 1973, he and Elizabeth “Liz” Fletcher were married in Bagley, MN. Following their marriage, they made their home in Tracy. Chuck worked in automotive parts and supplies sales for over 30 years between Tracy and Slayton. In 1987 they moved to Slayton and Chuck worked for Mid-West Supply retiring in 2016 after 19 years of service. Chuck was always ready to lend a helping hand to any one in need. He was the top fundraiser for the Murray County Early Childhood Initiative Jail and Bail his total over the years surpassed $16,000.00. Chuck passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Murray County Medical Center in Slayton at the age of 74. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton. Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, woodworking, painting, feeding the birds and squirrels, singing, and telling stories.
Survivors include his wife, Liz Haugen of Slayton, MN two sons and their spouses, Chuck Jr. and Amy Haugen of West Fargo, ND, and Aaron and Traci Haugen of Spicer, MN, eight grandchildren Amanda and Clint Jerkovich, Mars Humann, Quentin Humann, Charlie Humann, Declan Haugen, Evan Haugen, Ethan Haugen, and Elijah Haugen, and five siblings and their spouses, Linda and Gene Tordsen of Sauk Centre, MN, Kathleen and Andy Peterson of Glenwood, MN, Pam Haugen of Currie, MN, Georgia Hanson of Springfield, MN, and Abbie and Scott Stirn of Currie, MN. He is preceded in death by his father, Lindy and Clarice Haugen, mother, Betty and Keye Foster, and parents-in-law, George and Carol Fletcher.
Memorial Services
Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Chad Daffy officiating. The pianist is Sherri Isder with special music by Tim Bengtson. The honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren. Interment is at Willow Lake Lutheran Cemetery rural Currie, MN.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton from 4-6 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. To send condolences visit totzkefuneralhome.com
