Cheryl Deann Wilde
Cheryl Wilde was born on November 27, 1945, in Lake Crystal, Minnesota to Charles and Ada Rollings Kilmer. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Methodist Church in Madelia, MN. Cheryl grew up in the Hanska area and graduated from New Ulm High School. On September 3, 1966, she and Dennis Wilde were married in Madelia. Following their marriage, they made their home in Wabasso, MN for one year before moving to Fulda, MN. Cheryl did in home daycare and later went to work as a CNA at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda until her retirement in 2014. Dennis passed away on April 17, 2016. Cheryl remained in Fulda until May 2021, when due to health reasons she moved to her daughter’s home in Eagle Lake, MN. Cheryl passed away there on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the age of 76. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda and was active with the ladies group. Cheryl enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, crafts, fishing, and time spent in her gardens.
Survivors include her three children, Shawn and Elyse Wilde of Williamsburg, IA, Jennifer and Shane Wendland of Eagle Lake, MN, and Colin Wilde and Mary Wussow of Garfield, MN, six grandchildren, Ian Wilde, Aubree Wilde, Madelyn Scott, Hennessey Wendland, Stephanie Wussow and Evan Larson, and Heidi Wussow, four brothers and their wives, Daryl and Joann Kilmer of Madelia, MN, Royce and Pat Kilmer of Mankato, MN, Arlo and Pam Kilmer of Decatur, GA, and Larrys and Linda Kilmer of Hanska, MN and several nieces and nephews and their families. She is preceded in death by parents, her husband Dennis, and her brother Burton Kilmer.
Funeral Services
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda, MN on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Shawn Ethridge officiating. The organist is Loretta Gehl. The pallbearers are Shawn Wilde, Colin Wilde, Shane Wendland, Ian Wilde, Madelyn Scott and Chad Wilde. The honorary pallbearers are Daryl Kilmer, Royce Kilmer, Arlo Kilmer, Larrys Kilmer and Ron Renneke. Interment is at Prairie Hill Cemetery in Fulda, MN.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
