Chuck Ray Rachuy
Chuck Rachuy was born on June 8, 1956, in Worthington, Minnesota to Elgie and Delores O’Neil Rachuy. Growing up on a farm near Brewster, MN until 1957 when the family moved to a farm near Slayton, MN. In 1963 they moved to the current family farm south of Slayton. Chuck graduated from Slayton High School in 1974. He remained on the farm helping his father, Elgie until he retired, and Chuck took over the farm. In addition to farming in 1998 Chuck started working at the Toro Plant in Windom, MN. In 2019, he retired due to a cancer diagnosis. Chuck had a passion for farming and loved going to farm sales. Chuck moved to Our House Hospice in Slayton on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, where he passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at the age of 65. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Avoca, MN until it closed. Chuck enjoyed collecting cars, reading farm magazines and journals, and watching old westerns and other nostalgic T.V. shows. Family was important to Chuck, and he loved spending time with his niece and nephew and their families.
Survivors include his two brothers, Robert Rachuy of Slayton, MN and Larry Rachuy and his wife, Heid also of Slayton, MN; one niece, Erica Lang and her husband, Stuart of Shakopee, MN; one nephew, Cole Rachuy and his wife, Lacey of Slayton, MN; six great nieces and nephews; Raelynn, Kinsley and Harlo Lang, Arayah, Kye and Beckett Rachuy. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Richard “Ricky”, infant sister, Debra Rachuy, two infant brothers and infant sister, brother, Jim Rachuy, maternal grandparents, Patrick and Elsie O’Neil, paternal grandparents, Fredrick and Christine Rachuy.
A graveside service will be held at the Worthington City Cemetery in Worthington, MN on Tuesday December 14, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Anne Hokenstan officiating. Interment is at Worthington City Cemetery in Worthington, MN.
