Corrine Ann Miller was born to Allan and Orla (Nelson) Swan on April 23, 1946, in Tracy, MN. She grew up on a farm in Lowville Township, Murray County, and graduated from the Balaton High School in 1964. She then attended, and graduated, from the Sioux Falls School of Practical Nursing.
On Nov. 7, 1965, she and Jerry Miller were married at Sillerud Lutheran Church near Balaton, MN. Following their marriage, they farmed at several locations in the area before purchasing the ‘Swan family farm’ in 1969. This is where they raised their four children.
Jerry passed away in 2001. Corrine then moved to Slayton in 2004. In 2020, she moved to an apartment in Sioux Falls, SD, where she passed away on April 27th, 2021, shortly after her 75th birthday.
Corrine truly appreciated her children...would so often ask them for advice. She enjoyed a fairly quiet life, and put her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Westbrook, MN, where she tried to be helpful in various ways.
She was survived by 4 children: Carla (John) Prellwitz of Shelby, NE; Jerry D. (Crystal) Miller of Worthing, SD; Travis (Paula) Miller of Colman, SD; Dustin (Anne) Miller of Pipestone, MN; 16 grandchildren: Amanda (fiance Dan Bauer) and Matthew Prellwitz; Jared, Allan, Heath, Reid, Cody (Myja), Wyatt, Riley, Ty, Sierra, Dylan, Jacob, Julie, Jonathan, and Jeffrey Miller. In laws: Marlene Miller, Ellen Miller, Jeanette (Gary) Posthuma, Bob and Louise Van Leeuwee, Lewis and Linda Miller, Shari DeGroot, Doug and Grace Hart. Special cousin: Phyllis Hanson, who grew up on the same farm with Corrine when they were children, and numerous other cousins.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister Joyce Swan, her parents Allan and Orla Swan, her husband Jerry E. Miller, 2 infant
sons, grandsons Joshua and Caleb Prellwitz, granddaughter Katie Miller, brother-in-laws Maynard, Marlin, and Allan Miller.
She was buried in a private family burial on May 1st, at Memorial Gardens in Slayton, MN. Visitation will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church on May 22nd, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m.
