Cyanna Palmer Klausmeier
Cyanna Klausmeier was born on February 28, 1921 in Posey County, Indiana to Cyril and Kathryn Johnson Williams. She grew up in Indiana until the mid 1940’s when the family moved to Tennessee. On January 18, 1938 she and Frederick Klausmeier were married in Indiana. Following their marriage they made their home in Tennessee until 1956 when they moved to Pasadena, CA where Cyanna worked in a library and school. Frederick passed away on December 10, 1985. Cyanna later moved to Palm Springs, CA and in 2015 she moved to her daughter, Paula’s home near Hadley, MN. Cyanna passed away there on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the age of 98. Cyanna was an accomplished artist. Filling her home and the homes of her family and friends with many one-of–a-kind paintings and artwork. She also sold her paintings and other artwork at many different venues over the years. Cyanna enjoyed painting and reading.
Survivors included her four children, Donna Dill of Battle Ground, WA, Genevieve “Jenny” Caputo of Cathedral City, CA, Paula Thomas and her husband, Chris of Hadley, MN, and Loranne Atkinson and her husband, Spike of Laguna Beach, CA, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Ruthie Cook of Franklin, TN and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frederick and brother, Thayne Williams.
Memorial services will be at the Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton, MN on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Dave Hollis officiating. Interment will be private.
