Don Rolph Obituary

In Loving Memory Of

1961-DONALD HERMAN ROLPH-2023

Donald Herman Rolph was born to Philip and Jeanetta (Plagge) Rolph on March 27, 1961 in Pipestone, MN. He was baptized and made his first communion at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jasper, MN. His confirmation took place at St. Adrian Church, Adrian, MN. He spent his younger years near Jasper and attended Jasper Elementary School before the family moved to Adrian. While in high school Don participated in football and graduated from Adrian High School in 1979.

Don furthered his education at Pipestone Vocational School where he completed the meat cutting program. Upon graduation in 1981, he secured a position with Maynards Grocery Store, Fulda, MN and meticulously managed the meat counter. He took great pride in his work and often times made trips into the store over the weekend to make sure there was a nice display of meat to choose from. His dedication to the store spilled over to other departments as well and filled in where ever the need took place. Don continued his employment there until 2019 when his health prohibited his ability to continue working. Don also started his own janitorial service cleaning evenings at the First National Bank. Don also cooked at The Hub, and Casey’s. In addition he spent mornings and afternoons greeting children who walked up the steps to his school bus as he delivered them to and from the Fulda School District.

On March 26, 1983 he was married to Shirlene Christians. To this union the loves of his life joined them Kasey Rae and Kari Ann. He and Shirlene later purchased Antonio’s in Fulda in 1995. Don spent noons and evenings there. Later this union was dissolved.

Throughout his life Donald was active in outdoor sports enjoying hunting (pheasants, ducks, geese, and grouse) and fishing. He especially enjoyed the family northern vacations. Don was involved with Pheasants Forever and also spent several years helping with gun safety classes in Fulda.

His greatest joys in his life were his daughters and grandchildren. Don was active in the daily care of the little ones and took great pride watching them grow. He loved to attend the events the kids participated in.

Don passed away on April 5th, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.

Donald is survived by his daughters Kasey (Paul Duerr) and her children Hailee, Treydon, Bentley and Kaydance as well as Kari (Jesse) Rucktaeschel and children Bennet, Jaxson and their anticipated bundle - all of Fulda. Also missing him will be his mother Jeanetta and siblings: Michael (Carolyn) Rolph, Worthington, MN, Rose Ann (Lawrence Gielen) Rolph, Jackson, MN, John and Peter Rolph, Adrian, Mary (Edward) Newell and their children Cassandra and Sara, Stafford, VA and Dennis (Susan Smit) Rolph, Sioux Falls, SD.

Donald was preceded to heaven by his father, Philip, brother Roger, mother-in-law Kaleen Christians, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
