Dottie Dee Muecke

Dottie Muecke was born on April 10, 1943, in Chana, Illinois to Nellie Suter.  She grew up in Illinois until the family moved to Blackduck, MN for a time before moving to Fulda, MN where Dottie attended Fulda High School.  On February 11, 1961, she and Gary Muecke were married.  Following their marriage, they made their home in Slayton and raised their three children.  Dottie worked at the VFW Club, Kids Dudes and Erickson Jeweler.  In 1986 Dottie went to work at for the Murray County Central School system working in the kitchen and as janitor.  She retired in 2012.  Gary passed away on December 27, 2018.  Due to failing health Dottie moved to Our House Hospice Home in Slayton.  She passed away there on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the age of 78.  She was a member Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton where she was active in the ladies group.  Dottie was inducted in the Murray County Speedway Hall of Fame in 2017.  She enjoyed being with her family, dirt track racing, Nascar, watching the Vikings, Twins and all MCC Rebels sports, traveling and the occasional trips to area casinos.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Muecke Jr. and Tonya Repp of Slayton, MN and Chad Muecke and Amber Taarud of Fulda, MN, 12 grandchildren, Bradley Danneman, LeAnna Herrmann and Laura Eischen, Hope and Tyson Dekam, Jerimy Muecke, Dalton Muecke, Taya Schultz, Lane Muecke, Shelby Muecke, Corbyn Taarud, Nikki OBrien, Suzie Rostizki and Tina Lamke, nine great-grandchildren, Madison Danneman, Eleanor Dekam, Charlotte Dekam, Annie Dekam, Talia Meyeraan, Trevyn Rositzki, Javyn Rositzki, Starya Squire and Karsyn Lamke, three siblings, Lory Allison of East Springfield, IL, Rhonda and Harold Jr. Pate of Rocky Ford, CO, and Karla, six brothers and sisters-in-law, Marlene Muecke of Slayton, MN, Walter Muecke of Slayton, MN, Orian and Sue Muecke of Maple Grove, MN, Dennis Muecke of Slayton, MN, Sharon and Bob Schultz of Westbrook, MN, and Trudy and Bob Biegler of Iona, MN and several nieces and nephews and their families.  She is preceded in death by her mother, husband, Gary Sr. daughter, Lory Muecke, three grandsons, Brandon Danneman, Levi Muecke, and Chris Muecke, brother, Gene “Butch” Hale, parents-in-law, Walter and Madeline Muecke, and brother-in-law, Ronnie Muecke.

Memorial Services

Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Harlan Kaden officiating.  The organist is Nancy Lee Pierson.  Interment is at Slayton Memorial Gardens in Slayton, MN.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton from 4-6 p.m. also one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.
