Douglas Michael Lubben, the son of Robert and Ada (Kolander) Lubben, was born on March 19, 1953, in Worthington, MN. He attended school in Round Lake, MN and graduated from the Fulda High School. Doug was united in marriage to Susan Daniels on September 30, 1972, and to this union 3 children were born. They lived in the Fulda and Slayton areas until they later divorced. Doug remained in the Fulda area and on February 26, 2000, he married Robyn Staples. After their marriage dissolved, he lived in Fulda and could be seen having morning coffee at Antonio’s, attending his grandkids activities, fishing, fixing or repairing something or taking his turn on the “Fulda neighborhood watch”. Doug passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the Our House Hospice Home in Slayton, MN surrounded by his family at the age of 72.
Survivors include his 3 children, Tanya (friend, Ross) Reynolds of Fulda, MN, Candice (fiancée, Michael Fox) Ommen of Fulda, MN and Chad (Kristen) Lubben of Big Stone City, SD; 7 grandchildren, Tessa (Jonathan) Risacher, Tori Reynolds, Trinity Reynolds and Trent Kramer, Payton (Chloe) Marquardt and Mason Ommen, and Conner Lubben,; 2 great-grandchildren, Raelynn and Ryker Risacher; 7 siblings, Duane Lubben of Ankenny, IA, Donna Nagorske of Truman, MN, Dean (Mary Jo) Lubben of Fulda, MN, David (Rachelle) Lubben of Trimont, MN, Donald (Ann) Lubben of Fulda, MN, Daniel (Mary) Lubben of Fulda, MN and Rhonda (Joe) Baumgartner of Fulda, MN and half-sister, Charleen (Fred) Cain of Flandreau, SD. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Junior Nagorske.
Funeral Services
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Fulda, MN at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, with Rev. Shawn Ethridge officiating. The organist is Robin Gehl. Pallbearers are his grandchildren. Interment at Prairie Hill Cemetery Fulda, MN.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 6 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda is assisting the family with arrangements.
