Elnora Katherine Dierks, the daughter of William and Dora (Behr) Hardekopf, was born on August 18, 1926, in Seward Twp., Nobles Co., MN. She grew up on the family farm and attended school. She was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel American Lutheran Church in rural Fulda. Elnora was united in marriage to Ervin Dierks on May 21, 1944, at Immanuel American Lutheran Church in rural Fulda. After their marriage they lived and farmed northwest of Fulda. In 1975 they moved into Fulda. Elnora remained at home after Ervin died in November of 1990. She entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in February of 2025. Elnora passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda at the age of 99. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda where she was active in the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild. She enjoyed gardening (especially her roses), sewing, quilting and crotcheting.
Survivors include her 3 children, Dennis (Mary Jo) Dierks of Fulda, MN, Ronald (Beverly) Dierks of Orlando, FL and Gayleen Dierks of St. Cloud, MN; 9 grandchildren, Michael (Dody) Dierks, Kristen Gertsema, Lori (Sean) Boots, Lisa (John) Risse, Craigen (Tiffany) Dierks, Amanda (Justin) Sieve, Heather (Andre) Dartez, Adam Dierks and Timothy (Dyanne) Dierks; 16 great-grandchildren, Payton Dierks, Madison, Kennedy and Dawson Gertsema, Karsen, Jordyn and Jack Risse, Mikala (Devon) Welling, Alexa Jo (Anthony) Bahr and Dalton Dierks, Owen and Ella Sieve, Elias and Issac Torres and Brynlee and Londyn Dierks and great-great-granddaughter, Harper Welling. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, Cynthia (1961), son, Garry (2025) (Mary) (2019) Dierks, grandson-in-law, Brad Gertsema, brothers, Harry Henry, Leland and Alvin Hardekopf, sister, Helen Ruesch and infant sister, Wilma Hardekopf.
Funeral Services
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Fulda, MN at 1:30 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2026 with Rev. Shawn Ethridge officiating. The organist is Dr. Tiffany Hurst. The soloist is Mikala Welling. The pallbearers are Adam Dierks, Timothy Dierks, Craigen Dierks, Michael Dierks, Jack Risse and Owen Sieve. Interment at Prairie Hill Cemetery Fulda, MN.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda is assisting the family with arrangements.
