Eva Ann Clausen

Eva Clausen was born on July 4, 1939, in Adrian, Minnesota to Aloysius and Catherine Odenbrett Schafer.  In 1945 the family moved to Worthington, MN where Eva graduated from Worthington High School in 1957.  Following high school, she worked at State Bank of Worthington.  On May 21, 1960, she and Stanley “Stan” Clausen were married at St. Mary’s Church in Worthington.  Following their marriage, they made their home in Fulda for a short time before moving to Avoca, MN.  In 1975 they returned to a farm near Fulda.  Once her family was raised Eva went to work at Campbell Soup Company in Worthington.  Her and Stan retired in 1999 and moved to a home on Lake Shetek.  They loved being on the lake hosting family and friends and were very active in the Friends of Lake Shetek State Park.  In 2015 they moved to Currie, MN.  Stan passed away on January 8, 2019.  Eva passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Westbrook Hospital in Westbrook, MN at the age of 85.  Eva was a member of IHM Church in Currie.  She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America having served as Regent, Vice Regent, and Financial Secretary.  Eva enjoyed playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, baking, coloring, plastic canvas, watching the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Timberwolves and animals.  Eva was a fabulous cook and an even better baker.  She loved entertaining and there was always plenty of food for family and friends to enjoy.  Her favorite role however was being a mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her four children and their spouses, Joe and Brenda Clausen of Fulda, MN, Patty Clausen of Coon Rapids, MN, Becky and Dan Fox of Cottage Grove, MN, and Charlie and Janie Clausen of Walker, MN, 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Dorothy Schafer of New Hope, MN, and two nieces, Bev Koerner of Coon Rapids, MN, and Suzie Fruitt of Malvern, AR.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stan, infant son, Edward Clausen, two brothers, John Schafer and wife, Delores and Bill Schafer, and nephew, James Schafer. 

Funeral Services

IHM Church in Currie, MN on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Peter Schuster officiating.  The organist is Patty LeClaire.  The song leader is LoAnn Hansen.  The pallbearers are her grandchildren.  Interment is at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Avoca, MN.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at IHM Church in Currie, MN from 4-6 p.m. visitation will also be one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.  Totzke Funeral Home of Slayton is entrusted with arrangements.  To view online obituary and send condolences visit totzkefuneralhome.com
