In Loving Memory Of
Harry John Kirlin
Harry Kirlin, the son of Walter and Martha (Sellman) Kirlin, was born on February 6, 1943. He grew up on the farm and attended school in Fulda. He lived in Avoca (and elsewhere) for several years before he realized his lifelong dream of returning to the farm, where he lived the last 30 years of his life. Harry enjoyed raising cattle, chickens and various other critters. He worked 38 years at Toro Manufacturing in Windom as a millwright. Harry was a talented mechanic and utilized these skills to help many. He spent endless hours tinkering in his machine shed on all sorts of equipment. He very much enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, attending auctions and going fishing when he had the chance to. The last 20 months of his life were spent at Westbrook Good Samaritan Home (6 months) and St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield for the last 14 months where he passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the age of 77. The family would like to sincerely thank all of those who cared for him during this time. Harry was treated with dignity and love at both facilities and we could not have asked for better care.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ann; sons, Shane (Laura) and Brian (Kelly); from a previous marriage, John (Monica) and Richard (Katrina); grandchildren, Alexandra & Abigail; Elijah, Emma & Izabella; Andrew, Marie & Caleb; Kimberly & Kory; brothers, Delbert (Becky), Ray (Maxine) and Stanley (Judy); and sister, Janet (John) Rosa. He is preceded in death by his parents.
