James “Jim” Robert Buldhaupt

Jim Buldhaupt was born on May 13, 1960 in Slayton, Minnesota to Robert and June Voss Buldhaupt. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Chandler Lake Wilson High School in 1978. Jim attended Jackson Area Vocational Technical Institute for Auto Body Repair graduating in 1980. On August 24, 1985 he and Lynn Johnson were married at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson. Following their marriage they farmed in the Lake Wilson area and raised their two children. Jim and Lynn loved spending time at their cabin in the Black Hills. Due to failing health on December 11, 2020 Jim moved to the Pipestone County Hospice in Pipestone, MN. He passed away there on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the age of 60. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson where he served on the church council and assisted with youth group activities. Jim served on the Hadley Elevator Board and was a member of the Murray County Pork Producers. Jim enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, hiking, biking, riding motorcycle, and woodworking. Jim especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Buldhaupt of Lake Wilson, MN, two children and their spouses, Michael and Kyla Buldhaupt of Lake Wilson, MN, and Kristen and Kweku Kponyoh of Volga, SD, three grandchildren, Garrett Buldhaupt, Logan Kponyoh, Morgan Kponyoh and baby Buldhaupt due in January, his parents, Robert and June Buldhaupt of Lake Wilson, MN, four siblings and their spouses, Gail and Ken Kohler of Fargo, ND, Carol and Tom Steil of Cold Spring, MN, Mary and Paul Filzen of Kimball, MN, and Karen Buldhaupt of Sioux Falls, SD, and many nieces and nephews and their families. He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Henry and Edna Voss, paternal grandparents, George and Elsie Buldhaupt, and step-maternal grandmother, Edna Voss.

In an effort to keep everyone safe a private family service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson, MN on Monday, December 21, 2020 with Rev. Harlan Kaden officiating. The pianist is Jean Christoffels. The honorary pallbearers are Clark Schuur, Kent Carlson, Gary Bruxvoort, Jim York Willis Grimmius and John Risacheer. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Lake Wilson, MN.

Per MN Executive Order, masks will be required and social distancing and occupancy limits are to be followed
