In Loving Memory of
James “Jim” Henry Mixner
Jim Mixner was born on June 10, 1936, in Heron Lake, Minnesota to Henry and Mabel Haberman Mixner. He grew up on the family farm near Heron Lake and graduated from Heron Lake High School. Jim served in the Minnesota National Guard. On September 8, 1962, he and Angeline “Angie” Probst were married at St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian, MN. Following their marriage, they made their home on the Mixner family farm near Heron Lake. They eventually moved to Worthington while continuing to farm. Jim retired from farming but continued making trips to the farm to check on the crops, the renters and to feed the cats. Jim loved farming; he was his happiest when he was working the land. In September 2024 Jim moved to Edgebrook Care Center in Edgerton, MN. He passed away there on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the age of 88. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington.
Jim is survived by his wife, Angie Mixner of Worthington, MN, one sister, Sharon and Lyle Peters of Bloomington, MN, one brother-in-law, Don and Doris Probst of Worthington, MN, one sister-in-law, Anna Mae Fuerstenberg of Fulda, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Dianne and Dale Klopp, two brothers-in-law, Nicholas and Elvera Probst, and Ray Fuerstenberg, and one sister-in-law, Mariella and Al Heeren.
Memorial Services
St. Mary’s Church in Worthington, MN on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. William Thompson and Deacon Vern Behrends officiating. The pianist is Darlene Rautenkranz. The song leader is Peggy Herrig. The honorary Pallbearers are Dennis Probst, Douglas Probst, Thomas Probst, Dan Probst, Ron Heeren, Kevin Fuerstenberg and Brian Fuerstenberg. Interment is at St. Kilian Catholic Cemetery in St. Kilian, MN.
