Joanne Klein
Joanne Mary Klein, the daughter of Clarence and Harriet (Hoffman) Penning, was born on February 8, 1947 in Adrian, MN. She grew up southeast of Wilmont, MN and attended school in Wilmont. Joanne was united in marriage to Norman Klein on January 27, 1973 in Wilmont, MN. After their marriage they lived southwest of Fulda, MN. In 2009 they moved to a farm near Reading, MN. Joanne passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 at the Our House Hospice Home in Slayton, MN at the age of 78. She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, baking and spending time with those she loved, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Klein of Reading, MN; 4 children; Anna (Chris) Olson of Blaine, MN, Monica (Michael) Bestge of Shakopee, MN, John (Lori) Klein of Fulda, MN and Theresa (Dan) Henning of Chaska, MN; 8 grandchildren; brother, Rick (Cindy) Penning and 3 sisters, Char (John) DeChaine, Tina (Lynn) Vosler and Kitty (Monte) Brown. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Klein, parents, 3 brothers, Tony, Tom and John Penning, many family members and friends with whom she looks forward to a heavenly reunion.
Funeral Services
St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 with Fr. Peter Schuster celebrating. The organist is Dana Hogan. The song leader is Sheila Crowley. The pallbearers are grandchildren. Interment at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery Fulda, MN.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 6 PM at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
