Larry “Lee” Mark Cote

Larry Cote, the son of Norman and Doris (Haugen) Cote, was born on August 8, 1953 in Tracy, MN. He grew up in Slayton, MN and attended school. After graduation he attended vocational school. Larry entered the U.S. Army in 1974 and served with the Army National Guard until 1998. Larry was united in marriage to Marnella Cox on September 6, 2008. After their marriage they continued to live in Slayton. He remained at home after Marnella passed away in November of 2019. Larry passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at his Home in Slayton at the age of 66. He had a true passion for music, telling stories and telling jokes. He enjoyed his career in carpentry. Larry loved his family and helping others.

Survivors include his children, Bobbi Jo (Ryan Hebrink) Cote of Slayton, MN, Samantha Jo (Travis) Moon of Slayton, MN, Casie Jo (Brian) Padar of Houston, TX, Camren (Anne) Ackerman of Sioux Falls, SD, Myron (Vicki) Trejo of Brandon, SD and Stella (Tyson) Elder of Brandon, SD; 22 grandchildren; mother, Doris Cote of Slayton, MN; brother, Ronald (Jane) Cote; 2 sisters, Wendy (Perry) Fox and Marcia (John) Sanda. He is preceded in death by his father, Norman, wife, Marnella and daughter, Billi Jo Cote.

Funeral Services

St. Ann’s Catholic Church Slayton, MN at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 21, 2020 with Fr. Thien Nguyen officiating.  The organist is Judy Andrews. The song leader is Joanne Halbur. Special music by Ron and Jane Cote. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Johnson, Bruce Haugen, Brian Padar, Travis Moon, Ryan Hebrink, Camren Ackerman, Myron Trejo and Ron Cote.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. The Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton is assisting the family with arrangements.
