Margie Lou Loosbrock
Margie Loosbrock was born on December 5, 1937, in Wenatchee, WA to Lloyd and Esther Sarazine Butler. Shortly after her birth the family moved to Bingham Lake, MN where Margie grew up. She graduated from Windom High School and attended Minnesota School of Business. On November 16, 1957, she and James Loosbrock were married at St. Francis Xavier Church in Windom. Following their marriage, they made their home in the St. Kilian area and raised their six children. Margie was the bookkeeper at the Farmer’s Union Coop in Lismore for 25 years as well as keeping books for James’s business. James passed away on June 4, 1996. Margie remained in Wilmont until June 15, 2022, when due to failing health Margie moved to the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage. She passed away there on Monday, July 4, 2022, at the age of 84. She was a former member of St. Kilian Church where she was active in the CCW. She was a current member of St. Anthony’s Church in Lismore, MN. Margie was an officer of the Worthington Deanery and while attending a meeting for the Worthington Deanery Margie had the honor to meet Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta. On June 26, 2016, Margie received the Bishop’s Medal for her many years of dedicated service to the St. Kilian Church. She was a member of “The Misfits” a theater group from St. Kilian for 21 years. She also was a member of the Lismore American Legion Auxiliary Post #636. Margie enjoyed spending time with family, quilting, reading, and playing cards.
Survivors include her six children and their spouses, Mona and Ted Klein; Judy and Mike Ripley; Steve Loosbrock and Laura Weiss; Rick and Cindy Loosbrock; Jean Loosbrock; and Kathleen and Brian Leuthold; 12 grandchildren, Jarrod, Teddy (Megan) and Jesse Klein; Jamie (Mick) Loua, Shea Ripley and Ian Ripley; Devin Loosbrock, Alyssa (Brad) Yenter, Ashley Melco and Jimmy Loosbrock; Megan Robson; and Tristin Hieronimus; seven great-grandchildren, Mary Kathleen, Lou, Cecilia and Frank Klein, Layne Ripley and Nellie Loua; and Arden Yenter; two sisters, Judy Rand and Eva Awtrey, and many nieces and nephews and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James, infant daughter, Shannon, two great-grandchildren and one brother-in-law, Harley Rand.
Funeral Services
St. Kilian Church in St. Kilian, MN on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. with Msgr. Rick Colletti officiating. The organist is Kathy Mitchell. The song leader is Cate Koehne. The pallbearers are her grandsons. Interment is at St. Kilian Cemetery in St. Kilian, MN
