Merle Duane Kepler

Merle Kepler was born on April 25, 1944 in Slayton, Minnesota to Keith and Hazel Carter Kepler.  He grew up in Slayton and attended Slayton High School.  Merle made his home in Windom, MN where he worked for CalWell Packing.  Merle retired in 2015.  He remained in Windom until 2019 when he moved to Slayton to be near family.  In March 2020 he became a resident of the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda.  He passed away there on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the age of 77.  Merle enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his son, Darin Kepler of Mankato, MN, two grandchildren, Noah Kepler and Alexis Kepler, two siblings, Audrey Powell of Sun City West, AZ, and Curtis and Karla Kepler of Slayton, MN, one sister-in-law, Betty Kepler of Windom, MN and several nieces, nephews and their families.  He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Kevin Kepler, six siblings and their spouses, Cherry and Johnny Rasmussen, Gerald and Loretta Kepler, Lauren Kepler, Del and Delores Kepler, Connie Clarke, Dennis and Kathy Kepler, two nephews, Jerry Kepler and David Rasmussen and one brother-in-law, Dick Powell.

Graveside services will be on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Slayton Cemetery in Slayton at 1:00 p.m.  with Rev. Dale Denger officiating.  Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, GUESTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK and practice social distancing guidelines.
