Midge Johlfs
Marylynn “Midge” Johlfs, the daughter of Anton and Bernice (Schellenberg) Sturm, was born on June 19, 1936 in Avoca, MN. She grew up in Fulda where she attended school, graduating from Fulda High School in 1954. Midge was united in marriage to Wallace “Wally” Johlfs on October 6, 1956 at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda. After their marriage they lived on a ranch north of Fulda called the “Lazy J” and they spent winters in Hawaii and Texas. In 2018 they moved into the Mapleview apartments in Fulda. Midge remained at their home after Wally passed away in May of 2020. Midge passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN at the age of 88. She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church where she belonged to the F.C.C.W, Altar Society and taught CCW for many years. Midge was also a member of the Fulda VFW, Fulda Pink Ladies and was a Den Mother. Midge also taught aquacise and bone builders at the Fulda pool for many years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, swimming and playing cards.
Survivors include her children, Buck (Connie) Johlfs of Fulda, MN, Brett (Suzy) Johlfs of Napa, CA and Toni Ann (Jim) Berghorst of Sturgis, SD; 6 grandchildren, Tabitha, Brock, Katharine, Andrew, Jacob and Britney and 5 great-grandchildren, Rayne, Ryder, Nolan, Lauren and Audrey. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings Joanelle Pavnick, Bill Sturm, Don Sturm, Dan Sturm, Jon Sturm and Terry Sturm.
Funeral Services
St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 with Fr. Peter Schuster celebrating. The organist is Dana Hogan. Special music by Tiffany Sanow and Norma Meyeraan. The honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Private family interment will be at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery Fulda, MN.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
