Mildred Elizabeth Arens
Mildred Arens, the daughter of Thomas and Lucy (Pick) Hebig, was born on February 13, 1927 in rural Lismore, MN. She was baptized at St. Killian Catholic Church. Mildred grew up on the farm and graduated from the Lismore Catholic School in 1944. She worked as a housekeeper and receptionist for several dentists in Adrian after high school. Mildred was united in marriage to Urban Arens on October 1, 1946 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lismore. After their marriage they farmed near Lismore for about 10 years and in 1956 they moved to a farm south of Reading, MN. In 1966 they moved to a farm near Fulda, MN, where they lived and farmed. They moved into Fulda in 1978 and Mildred remained at home there after Urban passed away in April of 1980. Mildred passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda at the age of 95. She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing quilts for the missions, making crafts at extension club, volunteering monthly at Pink Ladies at Maple Lawn and playing cards with friends and neighbors.
Survivors include her 4 children, Connie (Stephen) Kozitza of Winsted, MN, Lois (Dennis) Imholte of Eden Valley, MN, Cathy (Daryl) Ruesch of Fulda, MN and Mike (Julaine) Arens of Fulda, MN; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Irma Lorang of Bloomington, MN and Avis (Veryl) Stoffel of Lismore, MN and 2 brothers, Earl Hebig of Lismore, MN and Daryl (Felice) Hebig of Mankato, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Michael Imholte and sister, Ivy Krogman.
Funeral Services
St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 1, 2022 with Msgr. R. Paul Heiting officiating. The song leader is Sheila Crowley. The pallbearers are her grandchildren. Interment at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery Fulda, MN.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda is assisting the family with arrangements.
