In Loving Memory of
Peggy Maudine Southwick
Peggy Southwick was born on October 22, 1923 in Garland County, Arkansas to John and Nora Coleman Cain. She grew up in Hot Springs, AR and graduated from Fountain Lake High School in 1942. She then attended Hot Springs Business College. On February 28, 1948 she and Hiram Southwick were married in Hot springs. Following their marriage they made their home in Slayton and raised their four children. Peggy later worked at the Slayton Library for many years. Peggy passed away on October 6, 2019 at the Murray County Medical Center at the age of 95. She was a member of the Slayton Presbyterian Church. She also was a member of the Monday Study Club and the Slayton Legion Auxiliary. Peggy enjoyed reading, tending her flowers gardens, bird watching, and collecting wildflowers throughout the county.
Survivors include her four children, John Southwick and his wife, Patty of Spokane, WA, Susan Southwick of Tucson, AZ, Tom Southwick of Port Hueneme, CA and Sally Southwick of Albany, NY, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hiram and all of siblings.
Memorial Services
Slayton Presbyterian Church in Slayton, MN on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dave Hollis officiating. The organist is Nola AAnenson. Interment is at Slayton Memorial Gardens, Slayton, MN.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
