Rachel Heyen
Rachel Heyen was born on March 27, 1924 in Emmetsburg, IA. Her family moved to Fulda, MN when she was young and she attended school in Fulda, graduating from the Fulda High School. Rachel was united in marriage to Henry Heyen on May 31, 1940 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Fulda. After their marriage they lived in Wirock, MN before moving to various locations in Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota as Henry worked as a foreman building churches. After his retirement they returned to farm near Fulda. In August of 1993 they moved into Fulda. Rachel remained at their home after Henry passed away in November of 2004. In March of 2017 Rachel entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda and passed away there on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the age of 96. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Fulda. Rachel enjoyed sewing embroidery, flowers, gardening, working on thew farm with the cows and baking pies.
Survivors include her 2 grandsons, Chad (Mayumi) Heyen of Las Vegas, NV and Craig Heyen and his fiancée, Alyssa Fuchs of Marshall, MN and half-brother, Lawrence Angermeier of Rockford, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Ronald, sister, Ruth Fisher and half-brother, Lenny Angermeier.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery rural Fulda, MN.
