Ramona Sophia Schwab
Ramona Schwab, the daughter of Emil and Sophia (Lammers) Ramert, was born on May 17, 1922 in rural Fulda, MN. She grew up on the farm and attended country school. Ramona was united in marriage to Donald Schwab on October 9, 1944 in Seattle, WA. After their marriage they lived in Seattle while Don was serving in the U.S. Army. In 1947 they returned to Fulda and built the Fulda Lumber Co., which they ran and operated until their retirement in 1978. Ramona remained at their home after Don’s death in February of 2008. In July of 2015 Ramona became a resident of the Maple Lawn Nursing Home and she passed away there on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the age of 98. She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda and served many years in the F.C.C.W. She also volunteered at the Fulda preschool screening for numerous years. Ramona was a master gardener and landscaper which she enjoyed doing at her home. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved seeing her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Sheryl Heger of Woodbury, MN, Ronald Schwab of Fairbanks, AK and Roger Schwab of Fulda, MN; 2 grandchildren, Tiffiny (Scott) Grossbauer of Eagan, MN and Abby (Josh) Tobias of Forest Lake, MN and 3 great-grandchildren, Livia Grossbauer, Louis Grossbauer and Alexis Tobias. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Bernard Ramert and 2 sisters, Lorraine Fiedler and Viola Clark.
A private family graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 15, 2021 at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Cemetery in Fulda with Msgr. R. Paul Heiting officiating.
The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda is assisting the family with arrangements.
