Robert “Bob” Gary Bose

Bob Bose was born on December 2, 1964 in Slayton, Minnesota to Gary and Karen Ward Bose.  He grew up in Slayton and graduated from Slayton High School in 1983.  Following high school Bob moved to Houston, TX and attended Ocean Corporation for commercial diving graduating in 1984.  Following graduation Bob moved to St. Croix U.S. Virgin Islands.  On April 22, 1985 he and Kathleen Proulx were married in St. Croix. In 1986 Bob received his Captains license. Following their marriage they owned and operated a tourist boat and diving business in the Virgin Islands.  They later made their home in Belize, South Cacoas, Rhode Islands, Hawaii, Alaska, Florida and Maine while doing tourist diving.  Bob also was a Master Diver doing underwater welding for the United States Navy, as a civilian serving his country in Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia.  In 2011 he and Kathy divorced.  Bob continued to travel and work as a Dive Officer in Tortolla, British Virgin Islands and in California   In March 2013 Bob returned to Slayton and was admitted to the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD where he passed away on April 1, 2013 at the age of 48.  Bob enjoyed spending time with family and friends, diving and traveling. 

Survivors include his mother, Karen Bose of Slayton, MN, sister, Glenda Koeneke and her husband, Mike of Rockland, WI, two nephews, Tyler Koeneke and his fiancée Kendra Meyers, and Kyle Koeneke all of Rockland, WI, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, and former wife, Kathy Bose of St, Johns U. S. Virgin Islands.  He is preceded in death by his father, Gary Bose, paternal grandparents, Ralph and Vivian Bose, maternal grandparents, Ray and Agnes Ward and his dog, Dingo.

Memorial Services

First Presbyterian Church in Slayton, MN on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. S Lynn Matthews officiating.  The organist is Nola Aanenson.  Interment will be private. 

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton from 4-7 p.m. and also one-hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
