Robert "Bob" Klein Obituary

In Loving Memory Of

Robert “Bob” Klein

Robert Gustav Klein, the son of Timothy and Esther (Berninghaus) Klein, was born on the family farm on August 24, 1937, in West Bend, IA. He was baptized into the Christian faith on August 29, 1937, and confirmed his faith on May 20,1951 at Peace Lutheran Church of West Bend, IA. He attended school in Rodman, IA. After school he worked at the West Bend Elevator and farmed. Bob was united in marriage to Suzanne Rasmussen on June 23, 1961, at the Methodist Church in Iowa Falls, IA. They continued to farm and raise their family in Rodman. In 1974, they moved to a farm outside of Avoca, MN. After their children were grown, they moved into Fulda in 1987. Bob began adjusting crop insurance. His ability to learn computer skills later in life and pivot his career was something that made him immensely proud. He retired in 2014. Bob was called home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2024, from congestive heart failure. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and storytelling. He was full of “words of wisdom” and freely shared those nuggets with anyone that was willing, and even with those not so willing, to listen. After retirement Bob loved gardening and enjoyed visiting with anyone who stopped by. He always had a story to share. But nothing made him prouder than to talk about his grandchildren and his great grandchild. He eagerly looked forward to their daily/weekly calls.

Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Klein of Fulda, MN; five children, Tim Klein of Slayton, Tom (Jodi) Klein of Avoca, Kathy Radde of Waconia, Karen Rogers of Roseville, and Robert (Cathy) Klein of Elysian; five grandchildren, Meghan Radde (Mitch Scrimgeour), Ashley Rogers (Adam), Emily Rassman (Cal), Andrew Rogers (Emma), and Erin Klein; one great-granddaughter, Brielle Rogers; one brother Edgar Klein of Tucson, AZ and one sister, Mary Severson of Iowa Falls, IA; brothers-in-law Ron (Connie) Rasmussen, Jack Rasmussen, sister-in-law, Bette Rasmussen. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law George Severson and Bob Rasmussen, and his sister-in-law, Lisa Rasmussen.
