Ronald “Ronnie” Jerome Schreier
Ronnie Schreier was born on February 26, 1941, in Slayton, Minnesota to Peter and Alice Beach Schreier. He grew up on the family farm near Currie, MN and attended IHM Catholic School in Currie. Ronnie graduated from Slayton High School in 1959. On November 16, 1963, Ronnie and Judy Ewy were married at St. Ann’s Church in Slayton. Following their marriage, they made their home in Slayton until 1968 when they moved to the family farm. Ronnie farmed for a short time before taking on driving bus. Ronnie retired in 2011 from Ludolph Bus Service after 50 plus years. Ronnie and Judy enjoyed spending time at their cabin on Lake Shetek with family. Due to failing health Ronnie moved to Our House Hospice Home in Slayton on July 5, 2025. He passed away there with his family by his side on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the age of 84. He was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Slayton. Ronnie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, farming, mowing, driving bus, camping, and attending rodeos. What he enjoyed most in life was his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Judy Schreier of Currie, two children and their spouses, Kim and Stan LaVoy of Balaton, MN, and Dean and Maria Schreier of Currie, MN, four grandchildren, Nicholas Muyskens, Cody Muyskens, Joseph Schreier, and Samantha Schreier, and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Schreier and Doris Schreier both of Slayton, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 4 siblings, Cleo and Betty Schreier, Peter Schreier, Rosellie Schreier, and Darrel Schreier.
Funeral Services
Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Chad Duffy officiating. The organist is Nancy Lee Pierson. The pallbearers are Joseph Schreier, Samantha Schreier, Nicholas Muyskens, Cody Muyskens, Chuck Ludolph, Mike Ludolph, Randy Schreier, and Mike Schreier. Interment is at Slayton Memorial Gardens, in Slayton, MN.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton from 4-6 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. To view online obituary and send condolences visit totzkefuneralhome.com
