Wilma Lee Lindquist

 

Wilma Lindquist, the daughter of Melvin and Trilba (Graley) Roberts, was born on September 4, 1936 in Seth, WV. She grew up in Seth and attended Mark Twain Elementary School until 1946 when her family moved to Hannibal, MO where she graduated from high school in 1954. Wilma then attended Hannibal La Grange College, graduating in 1956 and then continued her education at the University of Minnesota Duluth, graduating in 1963 with her B.S. degree. Wilma was united in marriage to William Lindquist on August 24, 1958 in Hannibal. She taught school in Askov, MN, Brookings, SD and Brewster, MN and substituted for many years after they had made their home in Fulda, MN. Wilma passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN at the age of 84. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fulda where she was active as choir leader for many years, P.W. officer, Bible study leader, release time teacher and bulletin board designer. She also served on the Fulda Library and Plum Creek Library Boards, the Fulda Reading Club and served as President of 2nd District General Federation of Women’s Club. For over 30 years Wilma was director of the Fulda Community Players. She promoted theatre trips for the Fulda Community Ed for 20 years and enjoyed singing in the Fulda Community Choir. Wilma took great joy in leading a Bible study for many years that met at Maple Lawn Nursing Home. Wilma enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, cooking and baking, especially pies. She also enjoyed traveling with Bill across the United States as well as trips to many other parts of the world. 

 

Survivors include her husband, William Lindquist of Fulda, MN; 2 children, William (Lorrae) Lindquist of Sioux Falls, SD and Jennifer (Glenn) Hanson of Greenville, IN; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandson on the way in 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Warren Lindquist. 

 

Graveside services will be held at the Prairie Hill Cemetery Fulda, MN. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held this spring due to COVID-19 restrictions Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church of Fulda or the Fulda Memorial Library.
