Ida Davis

Ida Davis, the daughter of John and Dina Keiser Bestge, was born on January 26, 1913 at Buffalo Center, IA. She moved with her family to Bancroft, SD when she was five years old and she attended country school. Ida was united in marriage to Rex Davis on January 14, 1936 in DeSmet, SD. After their marriage they farmed near DeSmet and later near Des Moines, IA. They returned to a farm near Brewster before purchasing a farm west of Fulda in 1955. They retired from farming in 1974 and moved to a home in Fulda in 1979. Ida remained in their home after Rex's death in 1988. In 2002, she moved into the Mapleview Estates in Fulda and in 2005 entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda and passed away there on Friday, June 15, 2007 at the age of 94. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fulda. Ida also belonged to the Bondin Leisure Hour Project. She enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives, playing cards, gardening, sewing and cooking. Ida also loved square dancing.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Lucille Bestge of Fulda, MN; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rex, three brothers, John, Esdert and Deddo Bestge.

Funeral Services

First Presbyterian Church, Fulda, MN at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 18, 2007 with the Rev. Dave Poppen officiating. The organist is Mary Jean Buschena. The pallbearers are Dale Bestge, Al Bestge, Lyle Bestge, Ken Grimms, Keith Anderson and Lloyd Winter. Interment will be at the Prairie Hill Cemetery in Fulda, MN.
