Rose Charlotte Gehl

Rose Gehl, the daughter of Roy and Lucile Robertson Fitch, was born on May 5, 1933 in Worthington, MN. She grew up in Worthington and attended school there, graduating from Worthington High School in 1951. Rose then attended Northwestern Bible College in St. Paul, MN. Rose was united in marriage to Walter Gehl on March 10, 1956 at the Worthington First Baptist Church. After their marriage, they lived on their farm near Kinbrae. Rose passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at her home at the age of 74. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulda, where she belonged to the Ladies Aid, Couples Club, and Alter Guild. Rose also spent time creating and designing banners for the church and volunteering for the Lutheran School. Rose was in the county extension group, an area Red Cross Coordinator, and 4-H leader. She enjoyed her art work and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Walter; four children, James (Robin) Gehl of Dundee, MN, Nancy (Tim) Jans of Prior Lake, MN, Judy (Kevin) Knutson of Worthington, MN and Sheila (Dave) Bos of Dundee, MN; fourteen grandchildren and one brother, Bill (Mary) Fitch of Edina, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John and Jim Fitch and one sister, Mary Lee Pahl.

Funeral Services

St. Paul's Lutheran Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 15, 2008 with the Rev. Dave Baumgarn officiating. The organist is Irene Wahl. The soloist is Leann Wenzel. The pallbearers are Jeremiah Jans, Joshua Jans, Kent Knutson, Gaylord Pahl, Doug Pahl, Steve Pahl, Christian Bos and Leighton Gehl. Internment at Prairie Hill Cemetery, Fulda, MN.
